Dave Schuman's Discography

Sane Insanity

by Dave Schuman
Digital Release Date:
Genre:
2011
Rock / Alternative
Preview in iTunes
Dave's Notes: Sane Insanity has my newest, most rockin' tracks. This album was recorded using DigiDesign/Avid ProTools with Propellerhead Reason on a Mac Pro. On this album, I play keyboards, guitar, trumpet, flute and drums. In Sane Insanity, I reconnect with my rock/alternative roots in, at least what I consider to be, a more mature way. Originally a trumpet and keyboard player only, I really stretched to the edges of my abilities in order to learn and perform the parts I composed on drums and guitar. I hope you enjoy it.

Pop / New Age

Dave's Notes: Ephemeral Universe consists of recordings I made in the years between 1999 and 2010. I included the "new age"-style instrumental selections, as well as some of the slower rock-style songs. Some of this album was recorded using emagic Logic (which later became Apple Logic Studio), and some was recorded using ProTools with Reason on a Mac Pro. On this album, I play keyboards, guitar, and drums (in a couple of the tracks, I am playing on my Roland V-Drum kit)

Dave's Notes: Drive Away To Manhattan was recorded in 1999, at my apartment studio in Hoboken, NJ. The songs are melodic, most are not too fast. Note the twin towers in the cover art... they actually existed when I recorded the album, and were representative of the sadness I experienced each day while commuting to my job on Wall Street from my apartment in Hoboken. The album's main themes are of sadness, reconnections, and hope. This album was recorded using emagic Logic (which later became Apple Logic Studio) on my old Windows 98 machine.

A Shimmer of Glope, the debut album of Liquid Playground originally recorded and released in 1997, contains over an hour of original diverse music which includes straight-ahead rock, bluegrass, intricate melodic riffs, four-part vocal harmonies, jazzy solos, creative jams, and an inspirational ballad. The music and lyrics are without a doubt creative and are meant to be a refreshing departure from most mainstream contemporary rock.

Liquid Playground: Live at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Morrison, CO, 7/7/1997

Liquid Playground performed live at Red Rocks Ampthitheater during Mimi Fishman's VisionFest, a benefit concert for the American Glaucoma Society. The event, with headliners Merl Saunders and David Grisman, was produced by Kate Ford and Dave Schuman of Book Kings, Inc.

About Liquid Playground:
The Colorado-based band Liquid Playground has toured nationally, performing with groups such as the Ominous Seapods, Merl Saunders and the Rainforest Band, and the David Grisman Quintet. The music of Liquid Playground can be best described as falling into the jam-band genre that includes other groups like Phish, Blues Traveller, Widespead Panic, and Leftover Salmon. Their live performances bring a theatrical element to the stage with costume changes, narration, and occasional general silliness. Think of a cross between either Frank Zappa and They Might Be Giants or Bare Naked Ladies and Rusted Root...

Liquid Playground Band members:
Pete DeRosa - electric and acoustic guitars, vocals
Jon Nichols - trumpet, vocals
Mike Olson - bass guitar, vocals
Dave Schuman - piano, Hammond B-3 organ, vocals
Andy Stack - drums, percussion, vocals
